We’re a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Milan, Michigan, and surrounding townships through exhibits, events, and education.
The Hack House is located at 775 County Street in Milan, MI.
The Milan Area Historical Society was established in 1972.
We serve Milan, York, and Augusta Townships in Washtenaw County, and Milan and London Townships in Monroe County.
The Hack House is open the second Sunday of each month from May through August, 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Yes! Admission is free, though donations are always appreciated to support upkeep and programming.
Yes, we welcome group tours and educational visits. Please contact us to schedule in advance.
The Fire Barn has a stair lift available. The Hack House has limited accessibility due to its historic nature, but we do our best to accommodate all visitors.
Membership is $25 per year and includes access to special events, early program notifications, and exclusive member updates.
Yes! The upstairs space is available to rent for private events (max 35 people). It’s $75 with a $50 refundable security deposit.
Donations can be made online or by mail. Every dollar helps maintain our properties, fund events, and preserve local history.
